A GIRLS WEEKEND IN SANTA BARBARA
You know that feeling where the hustle and bustle, your 9 to 5, the world in general is so heavy you just want to run away? Well, as soon as things opened up we did just that…GIRLS WEEKEND ANYONE?!
The DigS
To think we were able to take a quick, weekend trip to Santa Barbara this year was just short of a miracle and well needed for all of us girls. COVID safety was at the top of our list so when we found The Goodland we were happy to see all of the precautions they took to ensure social distancing and sanitary provisions. The hotel grounds itself was STUNNING. It was easy to find and had the right elements for relaxation. We brought games to play in our room and stocked up all of our favorite snacks.
Sip Sip Hooray!
Our main activity for our trip was a wine tasting excursion at Babcock Winery. Due to COVID, we did not get to tour the grounds too much, but we had an amazing server talk us through their selection. Our favorite wines were definitely their Malbec and their Pinot Noir.
On the drive there and back we listened to a throwback playlist. (Let us know if we should post it!) Singing your heart out while watching the serene ocean pass by is a BIG YES PLEASE. It was nice to talk about life, aspirations and swap advice to each other.
Pool Hangs
We were all pretty tired after the winery so we migrated to the pool area at our hotel where we took some photos, Bri read a book, the girls caught up on Instagram, and then we all simultaneously took a nap. We had our own section which was nice! The area had a good mix of family, friend groups and couples.
Dinner Dates
Sometimes the best part of going somewhere is the getting ready part, especially with your friends. Having four girls share two mirrors was a memory in itself! Music, wine sipping, sharing hair and makeup tips AND without time restrictions is the best! Our boyfriends could never. ;)
The two restaurants we ate at were Outpost and Chase. Outpost was the restaurant at our hotel and had the best burger and ahi tuna tacos!! SO good. Chase Restaurant and Lounge had the most romantic setting! They had their outdoor seating with a pianist playing classical music. At one point we found ourselves people watching the couples and laughed at how we ended up at such a hot spot for couples. We ate Creme Brûlée and an eclair that was exquisite.
Now that things might shut down again, it was nice to get that quick getaway in. What is your favorite thing about a girl’s trip? Drop it in the comment section! We might just reply and spill some tea… ;)
